Last week, Editas Medicine filed to go public. The company is already backed by Google Ventures and Bill Gates.
The technology behind the company is simply to re-write your DNA. The CRISPR Technology can basically change your DNA and fix genes that might result in severe genetic disorders and diseases.

Using technology to read your mind
If you are interested in what researchers are working on when it comes to using brain scanning this video from Nature Video (2013) shows three interesting example of how brain scanning can be used for:
- Reconstructing what you see based on fMRI
- Trying to visualize your dreams based on brain activity during sleep
- Developing a tool for detectives to detecting if you have been a specific place or seen a specific person based on your brain activity.
